Abstract
Often anesthesiologists are experienced to perform the inevitable blood transfusion during acute blood loss. Especially in obstetric procedure, although the time course is short, there is often acute, massive blood loss occured and which is
followed by
vital sign changes, inappropriate hemostasis, disturbance in electrolyte and acid-base balance, and somewhat late vital organ dysfunction. So many physicians easily decide the transfusion therapy as lifesaving method. But blood transfusion itself
has
many problems. Anesthesiologists must consider the benefit and harm of every transfusion therapy. We analyse the obstetric patients who received at least 1,000ml blood at perioperative period at Il Sin Christian Hospital.
